ORO has developed an innovative approach to address sustainable practical solutions to resolve the eco-nuisance of plastic waste. ORO incentivizes consumers to collect and return used plastics (e.g., bottles, coffee capsules, and fast-food packaging) through a proprietary financial technology that uses geo-positioning for tracking, collecting, and paying participants via their ORO PAY digital wallet system.
This encourages plastic collection at the consumer level, as it can now be sold to repurposing or recycling centers directly by the consumer from the convenience of their home, thereby increasing the overall percentage of post-use plastic recycled and contributing to a circular economy.
This innovation has already attracted support from large manufacturing organizations, with existing clients including Innova and Nestlé’s Dolce Gusto.
ORO is the tradename of i2020 Pagamentos Digitais SA. i2020 Pagamentos Digitais (trade name: ORO) is a German-Brazilian Fintech company, born in 2019 in São Paulo from the spin-off of benefits Fintech, VEE Digital, which was purchased by benefits company SWILE from France in 2021. Our capital is R$7,590,364 (US$ 1.5m), financed by its founder (84.19%), one Private Equity Fund (9%), and 11 Angel Investors (6.81%).
At ORO, our goal is to bring environmental and social impact through our ORO PAY digital account, the ORO AMBASSADOR SUBSCRIPTION PLAN, and our ORO eXchange / BOLSA ORO platform.
Our system has an automated reverse logistics and instant remuneration service for payments to recyclers, helping to create sustainable income from solid waste collection and encouraging every consumer to become a recycler.
To fund the product extension to include the automated and scalable ORO eXchange, we are currently raising R$20m (US$ 4m) through perpetual debentures (quasi-equity). This is a one-time placement and a non-dilutive way to participate in the development and growth of this innovative platform.
The debentures are tradable, transferable, and can be in bearer or nominative form.
In terms of structure, a famous precedent is VALE (CVRDA6)’s issue of perpetual debentures when the company was privatized.
