ABOUT US

i2020 Pagamentos Digitais (trade name: ORO) is a German-Brazilian Fintech company that was born in 2019 in São Paulo from the spin-off of benefits Fintech, VEE Digital, which was purchased by benefits company SWILE from France in 2021. Our mission is to create an environmental and social impact, as well as attractive shareholder returns, through our ORO PAY digital account and our ORO eXchange / BOLSA ORO platform.

At ORO we have developed a tracking system with an instant payment system to encourage the return and recycling of post-consumption packaging. We created a tool, ORO PAY, and a process, ORO eXchange, which manage to solve the 3 main problems of reverse logistics: duplicity, tracking and remuneration.

The ORO eXchange also serves as a pricing tool for post-consumer materials such as PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and other packaging and produtos. The platform manages to connect the seller of the materials directly with the recycling factory.

In the second phase of our development, we will extend our platform to include small producers with small manufacturers directly and give pricing power to both. We turn Price Takers into Price Makers!

ORO eXchange is and innovative, differentiated model with a great chance of having a significant impact on the environment, on recyclers and consumers, whom we are also turning into recyclers, because they are being remunerated instantly for the effort of collecting and returning recyclable waste, like the PET bottles.

We filed the patent on 24th March 2023. Our innovative collection model, together with the real-time pricing tool based on supply and demand, and our tracking software with instant payment method, is unprecedented and applicable worldwide. We also license out the use of the software and our methodology.

astrid emmerich

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Astrid worked for 18 years in investment banks in London, Luxembourg, Hong Kong and Brazil, 5 years as a Marketing Manager in Scotland and 7 years in Fintech in Brazil. Her last roles in banks were as Executive Director of Banco de Investimentos BTG Pactual, São Paulo, and VP of Banco de Investimentos Lehman Brother do Brasil, also in São Paulo. In 2016 he co-founded Fintech VEE Digital and in 2019 he created Fintech ORO.

She was a volunteer in Raleigh International’s development program co-leading an expedition in Chilean Patagonia for 4 months, with 100 young people and 50 volunteers.

And participated in the Common Purpose business leadership program in Edinburgh, which teaches the dynamics of the public, private and third sectors.

She was also a Director of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, the President of the Financial Women´s Association (FWA) in Hong Kong, and worked as a volunteer at Fight for Peace in the Maré complex in Rio de Janeiro.

She completed her MBA in Macau, China, at the Asia Open Institute.

Designer with experience in branding, packaging, editorial design, POP, web. Training in Visual Arts at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado.
He worked at CVS Associated Artists, Guimarães Professionals, Thymus Branding and Vogue magazine, always in art direction positions. He is currently creative director at Forbes magazine and creative officer at ORO.

Maddy Mendes

Chief Brand and Communication Strategy Officer

 

Maddy graduated with first-class honors from Cardiff University where she gained international experience at The University of Hong Kong and The University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She made significant contributions during her studies including a research publication in the 43rd Annual CogSci Journal at UCSD and development of a national Endometriosis awareness intervention with NHS Wales at Cardiff University.

 

After graduation, Maddy worked in London’s financial sector, focusing on fintech, tech, and impact sectors, to enhance her understanding of the global financial industry and interest in start-ups.

 

Later, Maddy joined Nali Consulting as Media Manager, supporting the development of sustainable and nutritional consumer products, globally. In April 2024, continuing at Nali, Maddy was invited to join ORO and played a key role in launching ORO’s reverse logistics system in Brazil alongside founder Astrid. Immersing herself in the Maués community, Maddy’s impactful contributions led to her appointment as Chief Brand and Communication Strategy Officer.

Hajar El- kacimi

Head of Partnerships
Hajar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management from ESCP Business School in 2024, where she studied across the London, Paris, and Berlin campuses. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Economics, Data Analytics, and Corporate Finance at École Polytechnique in France.

During her studies, Hajar gained valuable experience through internships, including a role as an FP&A Trainee at Mars, where she led business transformation projects, and as a summer intern at Gartner, managing client relations and improvement initiatives. She also worked as a Knowledge Analyst at Boston Consulting Group in Casablanca, supporting projects in the Global Advantage Practice.

In August 2024, Hajar joined ORO as Head of Partnerships, working closely with the founder to develop strategic collaborations and expand the organization's global impact.

Studied Graphic Design and Art in Oxford. Award winning Designer of 20 years plus for
Pearson Education, Hodder, and Oxonian Rewley Press. Worked for Disney,
DC and famous authors such as Julia Donaldson to create children books and
marketing. Now as a Creative Director of Creative Snug, she works with Beehive Illustrations, Cinnamon HR, Little Grey Cells and ORO.

Graduated from the University of Brasília (UnB) in Renewable Energy Engineering. He has been working in sales since 2017. Has ample experience in planning, accounting, auditing and creation of financial products. Started at ORO in 2020, as customer relationship manager.

Project manager

Graduated in Business Administration, with more than 20 years of experience in project management, team coordination and new business development. As a UNESCO Consultant, in the area of information and communication technologies, she worked with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Development, Coordination of Higher Education (CAPES) and Secretary of Education of MERCOSUR. At Cia Metropolitana do Distrito Federal (METRO DF), she held the position of Advisor to the Board of Directors. Joined ORO in 2020 as project manager.

Janine gonçalves

Janine worked for 23 years in large Consumer Goods companies, such as Coca-Cola Femsa, The Coca-Cola Company and Nestlé in the areas of Marketing, Trade Marketing, E-commerce and Innovation.
She also had experience at a startup called Gympass and was there when it became one of the Brazilian unicorns.
Since the end of 2022, Janine has been working on various digital marketing projects and e-commerce platforms and started in the Oro team in February 2023.

COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP MANAGER

Administrative Director of real-estate company Pecos Incorporadora for more than 30 years. Voluntarily chairs the Institute of Social Projects (InPrÓs), responsible for the Sandwich Effect Project. Director of theatre play “Peter and the Wolf”. She edited a memorable book on the immigration of Jewish families from Egypt. Started at ORO in 2023 as Community Relationship Manager.

Extensive experience in the area of Logistics, Management, Coordination and Team Leadership. Worked for 8 years in Coordination and General Management of Supplies at Gol – Transportes Aéreos S.A.,which included: National and International Purchasing, Repair of Aeronautical Components, General Inventory, Aeronautical Inventory and Logistics. Worked at an Import & Export company, implementing systems, standardization, strategic planning, mapping and design of processes.

Started at ORO in 2023 as PR & Communications Manager.
